Banks Lake, Wa

Has anyone gone this time of year or this year yet? I want to go next weekend and take the boat but I need to know the water temp. Any one know?
Thanks!
  • Matt, do you think Lake Roosevelt above it is a lot warmer since the bottom water from there goes to banks like mentioned above?
  • We were at Banks the first week of May. Water temp upon arrival (in Punchbowl) was 55' rising to 65' when we left. The majority of the lake never saw temps above 58'.
  • This last weekend we were down by Porcupine Bay area and it was COLD. Only the pigs could stand the water, LOL!
  • Banks Lake water temp is COLD even in late summer! It's a bit warmer on the south end. Banks Lake water supply is pumped up from near the bottom Lake Rossevelt. I've been out there when the air temp was 110 or so and was only able to stay in the water for 5 minutes or so at a time to cool off.
  • You can keep an eye on the fishing reports for Banks Lake at the Washington Lakes web site. Members sometimes report water and air temperatures. A report on May 3rd reported water temperatures were 66° - 70°. The most recent report was posted June 2nd and the author camped at Steamboat Rock State Park.
  • We've been there a month earlier, lots of people doing things on the lake, but the water was still NOT warm.
