Bath Drain

My drain keeps leaking around where the plumbers putty goes. I have tried to fix it the dealer has worked on it and it keeps leaking. The shower pan has some flex to it and we are careful but it keeps leaking. Wonder if I could use silicone on it?

I would give it at least 24 hours. Good luck, Bill

That would be best especially since it may move a bit when you step in the shower.
  • Thanks guys, As for cure time how long? I am on vacation and have 10 more days.
  • You never use plumbers putty against plastic (says so on the container) - it will fail.
Use 100% silicone for this application and it will hold up fine.
  • Look at it real close , you may have a crack around the outside of the drain .
  • that is the ticket, and make sure you give it plenty of time to cure. that is all i use on comm. sinks and mop sinks.
