I have camped for 3 days with my family with no hookups on original house battery. All the lights in the camper operate on 12V DC. The fridge electronics run on 12V DC with propane to cool it. The water pump runs off 12V DC. The only things we use the 110V AC for are electric griddle, coffee pot, microwave, and air conditioning.
That said, some $1 Harbor Freight flashlights seems like a far cheaper solution that fuel for a generator, let alone the noise and inconvenience of one.
