DO NOT get the Boondocker if you expect a fast charge with a generator.
Boondocker drops to 13.6 volts at about 70 to 75% charged. You need a Progressive Dynamics or IOTA converter that will hold the boost voltage for an extended period to get 95%+ charged in reasonable time.
Please tell me more about this. I read a blip here and there about this but not enough to be sure, hence my questions.
I appreciate you mentioning it.
So you are suggesting a separate charger? Then I would just disconnect the charging portion of the Elixir? I'm not sure of the wiring for that, not sure if it is separate or what, never looked.
I've read where some folks have run 120 volt line to the front of the camper near the batteries and added a charger there, which also helped with wire gauge requirements.
I added a locking front access door to the front storage area, so I can access the inside middle area and mount a charger there if that's better?
Again, not sure if I can just disconnect the charging portion of the Elixir and retain the 12v converter portion?
Do you have a model of any of the above to suggest for my size camper and a pair of the 6v (let's say Trojan 105) batteries? I would pay a little more to get a 1 hour bulk charge to 80% or more.
