A PWM would slow down the fan to reduce the noise. I didn't ignore the suggestion, rather I was hoping to find a quieter and more efficient replacement fan that I could adjust the speed with PWM. I want it ALL! LOL.
As you can see (hear) in my video slowing the vent fan reduces noise considerably yet it still spins fast enough to draw air out the vent ... works for me so no, I see no need to replace the fan itself. :)
