It was easy to install. It fit the existing hole well. I dont remember each step of the way but I cut it apart and basically drilled holes for the new fan. The old fan was very noisy and seemed to pull too much air as it affected the burner. This new fan is still strong enough to blow the plastic flapper out most of the way. It may put out less air but the noise difference is well worth it. It pulls about 300 ma. Iirc there was an inner plastic flapper which I removed. Not positive about some of this as it's been awhile.
I also thank landyacht again for this fan suggestion. He knows a lot about fans etc
That looks nice! I wonder why it doesn't have as much airflow as the original? I read in another post the stock is around 85 cfm and this is 65-150cfm. Are you running it on low speed, or is it a power issue that it slows when meeting resistance like the flapper?
We don't cook inside, mostly make coffee, maybe boil water or heat coffee this year. If we run the microwave to heat food, we run it to keep smells out of the camper, etc.
So I can't see grease buildup being any issue in our case.
I wonder how the air channel looks up in there? Do you have a filter?
BTW, we replaced the outside vent/flapper piece a while back. The old one was yellowed. Between that and the door window frame, it looks MUCH better now.
One of the best bang for the buck things we've done ;)
