I just asked DW about the fan and she seems to think it moves the same amount of air. I thought that it was less because the old fan affected the burner so much. If there is any difference in air flow it is well worth it because of how quiet it is. My hearing isn't good so I always forget that it's running. Wife can hear it but likes how quiet it is.
The old fan was just so dang cheesy that you would just want to smash it. As we do some of these modifications we run into products that are not so good. I figure at $26.00 I would be happy if it lasts 2 years. It's still just as quiet as when I installed it. Hopefully the difference is that it's a $26 fan not a $5.00 fan.
There is an aluminum mesh filter which I just noticed is very dirty so I'll be washing it today. It does well at catching grease as the fan is still clean. Iirc this fan came with a potentiometer or something and a harness to connect it to a computer mother board. I'm running it at full speed since I didn't see what good a slower speed would do for me.
