Funny but oh so true. Anyone who believes a salesperson is pretty gullible.

some thing to add to your battery box,, a disconnect switch. this will shut everything off and your battery won,t drain down, this way when you go away for a week your battery won,t be dead when you return.

I leave trailer plugged in year around and check water level twice a year.....never found it below the plates.

If it does however bother you, purchase an AGM battery as no maintenance is required.

Generally if you are renting in place you should be able to just disconnect the battery and you will lose no water. Once a week does seem a bit much. Then do they expect you to fill the battery? Do you have distilled water and eye protection? Are you even comfortable topping it off? Easy to overfill also.

It's not going to start a fire...LOL. It'll just kill the battery. Put it on a trickle charger, instead of the converter it comes with.

Depends a lot on the weather. I check mine about once a month or so when it's warm if I remember. It's been cold and raining for the last 3-4 months so I haven't checked it at all. You'll get the feel of it.

You certainly don't have to check it once a week.

Checking your battery water level weekly when camping is an excellent maintenance habit. Use distilled water and wear eye protection. Fill as recommended by the battery manufacturer. You might want to also read an RV Electricity 101 paper. I wouldn’t worry about fire but I would worry about extending battery life to the max. Them dang things are expensive.
