battery replacement time

Time to replace the battery in my Lance 1010.

What is everybody using? I have a Trojan ssc 225 it was ok but not great, don't think I want to go with one again.

We do a lot of boondocking so battery life is important.

  • I have 2 12V AGMs hooked in parallel. If I replace batteries, would it make sense to go to 2 6V hooked in series? It seems I would get more amp-hours: I could go from 160 AH to 220 AH for similarly sized AGM batteries.

Lifeline 24s to their 4CTs. Remembering usable AH is half of what is above.

Would my solar charger and 110 charging system see any difference?
  • (2) Deka series 31 AGM's since 2010 with no issues. Still going strong
  • 2 x Trojan 27-AGM (since January 2006).

We have 2 x 75W solar panels with Morningstar 15A controller, which no doubt help the battery longevity a lot.
  • We just switched to Fullriver 6V AGM DC250-6 model.

    250 a/hr of 6V juice...not bad!

We boondock mostly also, and batteries are important. I will not mess with wet cells again.
