Battery Shut-Off

I have a Coachmen Clipper 17BH that I am looking to put a battery shut off on. I use it on weekends during the summer and not able to keep it at home. I know I need to put it on the positive wire and also aware that I need to make sure the switch is on while towing it.

I only use the battery to run the fridge before I go out to the campsite, don't try camp or anything like that.

I was wondering if this switch would work? I had it laying around for another project but didn't end up needing it.

    My last 2 trailers came with a battery shutoff. They should be OE, but if you don't have one, add one.

    I also put a Blue Sea Systems marine switch on mine. But the one you show will work.

    Be sure to wire the battery switch so that your breakaway switch is always hot. In case you forget to turn on your battery switch before towing, the breakaway switch will still work in an emergency. The breakaway switch has no parasitic draw, so it will not slowly drain your battery.

    i use the same switch, and a backup key isn't really necessary, as long as you can get to the back of it you can just unbolt one and put them on the same post to bypass the switch if needed.

    You can put it on the pos or neg aide - either will work just as well.

    It'll work but it needs to be mounted in a dry location. Like ianmac23 I put a marine switch on my TT.

    I'd suggest you get a back up key just in case you misplace the one that comes with it. Otherwise, it should work fine.
