Battery Tender

I pulled the batteries and have them stored in a closet indoors. Any need for a battery tender, or can I just assume they will need time to charge before next use?

    Charge first, and then store.

If you have a name brand battery tender, you can leave it on the batteries, powered, or develop your own schedule.
  • If the batts are AGM , you can do a full charge then store them as long they are strong enough batteries ? AGM do not off gas like regular wet cells and they hold the charge for a longer period of time when sitting idle.
  • If you have a name brand Battery Tender, they can be left on the battery full time. You don't want a battery in a closet whether you are charging or not, because they will out gas during charging and could leak at any time.

Batteries last longer if kept fully charged. It is usually recommended to charge monthly. I connect my 1.25 amp Battery Tender for three days each month.
