About 20 years ago I was talking to a independent Canadian trucker who was in his 60's. He had just delivered a load of recreational boats to a marine dealer. He had picked up the cargo in Washington state and driven them to the province of Manitoba...a fair distance.

He told me, he had bought the Mack (B 61 if memory serves me) in the late 1950's when he was a young man and this truck had earned his living during his career, since that time . I recall him telling me it had over 5 million miles on the odometer. It was in beautiful shape. Very well maintained.

I recall reading that there's a Mack B61 wrecker in NJ that's been in service since the 60s with around 3 million miles on the chassis IIRC.

Won't be tomorrow but someday I'll own a B61 :C. My father owned a 1970 Mack F711 cab over with a 15-speed twin-stick that I practically grew up in.
