Can someone give me some tips on beach driving? I have gotten pretty comfortable driving my TT over the past 4 years, and I would like to camp on one of a number of local beaches that provide access...

Everything you said was good advice except for the bit about recovery straps vs. chains. A chain will NOT store energy like a recovery strap does (stretch). It is the strap that will come through your windshield, not a chain. If a chain breaks, it will just fall to the ground since it doesn't stretch or store any energy in it.
