Even if i go over 1000lbs, which i wont, it will still be safely under my maximum tow capacity. Its the reason i want something 5.5k or under before i load it up with my stuff
My current trailer weighs 2650 dry. the actual empty weight is 2700. drove it from the lot i bought it to the scales..
The absolute heaviest ive ever weighed it with all my stuff jammed in it, including full fresh water tank, ready to camp(with wife, kid, dog) it weighed 3500 lbs
I understand that in a bigger camper i can put more stuff in it, but i doubt i will ever go over 1000lbs. So 6500lbs loaded is well within the safe zone of my trucks capacity
which makes 5500 my max dry weight i prefer
