I'm impressed that you're within 220lbs, with a hardside, on a Ford Ranger, assuming that's scale weights.
Normally, just the empty camper will put you over by more than that.
"Only 220lbs over" on a Ford Ranger is much more significant than "only 220lbs over" on a dually. On a Ranger it's upwards of 25% of the rated payload, where it might be 5% or less on a dually.
That said, I don't think you're going to be able to trim anywhere near 220lbs without sacrificing some significant creature comforts.
Just do what you can, and work on the mental issue.
