Only because you mentioned the longevity of gassers, the GM 6.0L has been proven a very solid and reliable motor for years. It's not uncommon for these motors to exceed 200,000 miles with no issues. And lots of gassers are pulling 5ers with no issues as well.
The Ford 6.2L and Ram 6.4L are also very solid motors.
