Same criticism. They are OK for some dirt work(so are a lot of normal Caravans here) but not for continuous Off Road Use.As well they are limited on choice. Most Caravans here are custom jobs.
AFAIK, these two companies have some of the toughest frame/axle/wheel combinations and best clearance in N.A. Much better than Lance and most other N.A. and especially Eastern U.S. manufacturers. There are a few manufacturers of small, almost utility boxes that may be more off-road capable, but I don't think you'll find much else.
They do emphasize 4 season (especially winter) comfort probably more than extreme off-road capabilities. Guess there's not too much snow/ice in Australia?
