You need to watch the show before posting about it. Their show is 95% about recovery, that is the only interesting part about it. Any idiot can drive the tow truck back to the shop.
I've been heavily involved in offroad since the early 70's. I have participated in hundreds of offroad recoveries. I have never once seen one of those stretchy ropes used on the trail for anything. 99% of the time the equipment used for offroad recovery is some combination of winches, recovery straps, tree straps and d-rings.
But, its your money, buy what you want.
