West Glacier is a long, long drive to Yellowstone. West Yellowstone, not so much. You can make reservations for both the KOAs near West Yellowstone even though the parks are closed. Don't know for sure if they are answering or returning phone calls, but the online system is available year round.Twistedlarch wrote:
Sorry, we're looking for full hookups
Either One of the KOAs in / near West Glacier. There's two. The one closer to the city of West Glacier is the nicer of the two, it's more like what you'd expect a KOA to be.
If you want to be in the park, there's Fishing Bridge RV campground, which has full hookups.
Neither KOA is open right now so it's probably impossible to make reservations.
When I went to park in 2006, we booked Fishing bridge about a year in advance.
Reservations are must due to the amount of visitors the park gets. - Grizzly is not next to grizzly bear and wolf sanctuary. The one next to it is Buffalo Crossing. Grizzly is about four blocks away.
Make reservations early as better parks fill up early in season! - Dick_BExplorerX2 for Grizzly which is next door to a grizzly bear and wolf sanctuary. Get up close and personal with a wolf separated by a chain link fence is unnerving...and take the tour buses.

Looks like it will be closed next summer too:

They've been doing a lot of construction there over the last few years. When I did a short visit to the park in the fall of 2015, it was closed then too.- Buffalo Crossing RV park
- Campfire_TimeExplorerGrizzly RV in West Yellowstone. Excellent place. Two minutes from the west entrance. Walking distance to everything in town.

Are you wanting full hookups, partial hookups, or no hookups? Or don’t care?
