best RV supply store in Lacrosse WI

Hi, I plan to do some shopping for the new RV - Jayco 256RKS in the next week or so, can anyone give me some "best place" shopping tips? Surge protectors, water filter, chemicals, new locks, that type of thing. Thanks everyone

  • FMB seemed comparable to what I've seen online. Not sure about Coulee Region RV. Maybe print out a price and description, from th Internet, of what you want and if not already marked comparably see if they will match the price.
  • Forget about buying locally because local sources are higher and usually a lot higher than elsewhere. Go on the internet. I've found that there are typically better prices than Amazon and ebay. You can't talk to anyone at Amazon if you have a question or problem so I avoid them as much as possible. I got burned once by Amazon because the item had flimsy packaging and was damaged and when I went to return it, I had to absorb the return shipping cost. Ebay can be okay but since sellers have to pay ebay selling fees, the cost of items goes up. I also don't like being forced to pay by Paypal.

There's a number of really good independent online RV parts vendors - Tweetys.com, pplmotorhomes.com, RVupgradestore.com, dyersonline.com, adventurerv.net, and a few others. Customer service is superb. Just do a google search with the item name + description and see what comes up. If you have a part number, that helps too. You also need to compare item cost + shipping cost. I've found that 99% of the time or more that CW has a high price even though everything is "on sale" all the time, and often the cost is much higher than others.

I love Amazon with Prime membership. 2-day shipping or $4 per item next day. Great prices.

I use FMB Trailer Sales in Holmen. It's just north of La Crosse on Business 35. We have bought three Jaycos from them and they have a section for accessories. There is also Coulee Region RV off I-90 in West Salem, a couple miles east of La Crosse. I've used Amazon.com too but sometimes it's nice to actually touch and see what you are buying.

thanks, do you see a large markup on items compared to other places ?

  • I agree with both of the above plus (I know some are going to disagree) Camping World. For me I shop around for big ticket items and have success at all the above at various times.
  • I have had great luck with searching Ebay for many items.
