otherwise gas mileage is NOT part of Towing..
I just towed..... 800 miles F 250 gas and 8,000 pound trailer for a loaded total of 16,800... at 9 mpg.. and $ 1.80, WV, V, NC hills. - beemerphile1ExplorerDiesels use less fuel than gassers.
You will find when towing that it takes xxx amount of fuel to move xxx amount of weight down the road at xx speed. Fuel consumption doesn't vary much from one vehicle to another when towing.
What you are towing, the frontal area and speed is most important. - bid_timeNomad IIMPG's and towing are mutually exclusive. If you want better mpg you have to have a smaller more low profile trailer. The bigger and higher the trailer the more Hp you need. More Hp = more fuel = less mpg. Vehicle makes little difference.
