Don't even waste your time calling. It's 8 years old -- the manufacturer's defense will be for you to prove it was that way when it left the factory, not after 8 years of use. As another poster mentioned, something could have shifted, especially over 8 years. Odd that it took the problem that long to surface. Pay for it to be fixed and move on. This is one of those "pick your battles" situations.
