Brand new truck and a brand new trailer, yet you're complaining about the cost of a set of two tires and wheels?
I'd find a set of factory wheels from Craigslist and a set of FOUR snow tires.
X2 but I'd get a nice set of Alcoa's for summer rubber, and use your stockers for winter rubber. It still amazes me folks in the north cheap out on winter rubber. You might even find some older steel wheels at the local pick apart cheap for the winter tires.
it really is not a matter of being cheap.....it just seems to make sense that rather than spending $700 for two winter tires, I can have a full set for about the same money.
That would provide better traction for driving and for steering in various situations...not just snow. Some camp grounds get pretty dicy after a hard rain with mud, wet grass , etc.
I have 350 pounds of weight over the rear axle now, and it did not help at all with the crummy street tread...I even lowered the rear air pressure. Nothing worked.
I am looking for a solution to several problems at tbe same time, and I think a full set of good AT tires will help all around. Not being cheap and willing to spend $1000 or more.....
