A few months ago after getting back from Florida, I was whining on here about the price of diesel this winter. Well now that the government have raised the price per gallon of gas and not lowered the price of diesel, I guess I cannot complaint anymore about that .
So tonight it may sound like I am whining again about the price of these truck campers but really I am only giving you the facts. I will save the whining for after I purchase one.
In 2009 when I finally decided to buy my first truck camper I thought $20,000.00 would get you the best and everything you could possibly want in a truck camper. Boy was I wrong. I priced my Bigfoot 25C9.4 one day and got a quote of $49,000.00 Canadian plus tax. The day Bigfoot went out of business I got that same truck camper for $32,500.00 plus 13% tax. (Excellent Deal)
Today I was offered a new 2012 Bigfoot 25C9.4 with the same options as my last Bigfoot 25C9.4 for $38,420.00 tax included.(Imagine, 2 years old and still close to 40 grand)
As far as looking at the 2014 Bigfoot 25C10.4 I have been working with 3 dealerships in 3 different Provinces to get pricing.
1/ In Alberta, Canada total cost $55,220.55,
2/ In Quebec it $57,487.50
3/ Ontario this camper is $54,172.20
Because I don't mind driving to pick it up, if I order the 2014 Bigfoot 25C10.4 from any dealership in Ontario and pick it up at the Bigfoot factory in British Columbia, I can save $4700.00 delivery.
I have had discussions in Ontario about Lance and Northern Lite truck campers as follows:
2014 Lance 850 =$33,500.00 plus 13% tax.
2013 Lance 992 with 2 slides $39,900.00 plus 13% tax.
2014 Lance 1191 $48,995.00 plus 13% tax.
2013 Lance 1172 $49,989,00 plus 13% tax.
2013 Northern Lite 8.11 Queen Classic $34,995.00 plus 13% tax.
2013 Northern Lite 9.6 Queen Classic SE $34,995.00 plus 13% tax.
I have to agree with Cadillac Jack above the Bigfoot 10.4 has a very nice layout. But Gary3 makes a great point about the slides.
Anyway tonight I am no closer to making a final decision than I was a week ago. Going down to Ottawa (4 hours away) to look at some more Northern Lite and Lance campers. Have not seen anyone selling a Artic Fox yet.
There are very few dealerships selling Truck Campers or if they do they only sell one or two brands and only carry 1 or 2 in stock. For some reason its also hard to find very many new 2013 model around of any brand. Making getting a good deal a little harder.
