Black Tank Flush

This may sound like an odd question so I'll give a little background first. I'm a little OCD about flushing my tanks, ok ok, I'm A LOT OCD about flushing my tanks. I've been in a couple campers that really stunk. I'm happy to say that in my 4 plus years owning my camper, I have only had one issue. I had soapy water in the black tank sour. Other than that, NO ISSUES!!! When I dump, I use the wand and tons of water and flush the black tank 4 to 5 times. Like I said, OCD. Well, on this coming Saturday, I pick up my brand new, 2016 Starcraft Autumn Ridge 329 BHU. It has the "Black Tank Flush" installed from the factory. Does anyone know what exactly this consists of? I know it's going to be a sprayer in the tank but is it like the Tornado, multiple jets, what is it??? I know people are going to think I'm crazy for asking this but this trailer is the first new thing like this that I've ever bought and I'm planning on doing everything I can to take excellent care of it. Just wondering what and how well it is going to work. Thanks in advance.

  • I am not OCD and on occasions use the built in tank flusher.
Full Timed for 7 yrs and NEVER had an issue or odors because the vapor barriers ('P' traps, seals/gaskets, vents etc. ) all worked.
And they are holding tanks which are going to get dirty again.
Dump when FULL (high liquid volume/weight carries boulders down/out)
Add some water back in after dumping so bottom of tank and anything left behind stays wet.

Get a clear dump adapter (attach on drain line then sewer hose to it) and you can quit wasting so much water flushing/rinsing your black tank 4-5 times using a ton of water :B

    Built in flush system components:
Check valve inside hose connection on side of RV
    Anti-siphon Vacuum Breaker
    Spray nozzle (some rotate----some fixed)

  • I am not OCD. I have a 1990 fiver that has a tank flush installed. Works just fine.
    Never a problem.
However I know of 2 cases where the compulsive types got into trouble by shutting the drain valve with the unit flushing and then getting distracted. Overflowed the tank onto floor of coach. There is too much of a good thing.
