Blackbear tune

Hey guys,

Just a quick question, has anybody done the Blackbear tune to there 08 and up GM 6.0? Just wondering if you have post results if you can please. I am looking at the hand held custom tune that they do. Pretty cool that it can be used when needed. I want to get rid of some of the Tq management while freeing up some HP and TQ. I had emailed them last night and waiting for a response and figured to get info from owners that have done this in the meantime.
Thanks,
Kris
  • Had a Blackbear tune on my 04 and loved it. Not much HP increase if any but the throttle response was better along with the shifting. I had an 89 octane tune with no torque management and firmer shifts. MPG stayed the same. I put just over 100k on that truck with the tune with no issues.

Been thinking about doing something with my 2011 just haven't yet.

I know I didn't really address the OPs questions but sure can recommend Blackbear.

You can get some impressive numbers out of an LS motor with a cam and tuning. I don't know how it works out doing it on a motor that tows mostly but a cam can make them come to life.;)

Maybe good peak HP number gains for racing but not where it counts for towing...

  • I've read a number of positive things on the GM trucks forum.

However, I guess they are very busy (good for them) and they can take a very long time to respond to inquiries.
