Does anyone have trouble getting the chain off when unhitching? When I took it off at home after buying the new trailer and Blue Ox, that "wrench" flew out of my hand, and the end of the chain whipped around.
I'm just glad it didn't hit my hand, wrist, or arm.
I know lifting the hitch, trailer tongue, and truck is supposed to take the tension off the bars, and I had them lifted. How high does one need to left all that to take enough tension off that the "wrench" doesn't fly back.
At this point, I sure wish I had my old Equal-i-zer hitch hooked to the trailer.
Jack it up as far as you need to to take the tension off the bars.
Also, use a ratchet to turn the rotating bracket. That way if there is still tension, when it spins around it just spins the ratchet mechanism, and it won't pull your hand.
