In a year or 2 we will sell the motorhome and go back to a TT so i am preparing for that. We were going to buy a Ford but you cant get a nicely equipped Ford that is flat towable. I have had all brands and they are all good trucks. This one puts a smile on my face when i drive it. Stopped in to look at it and went back after a few hours and told the salesmen that they had one chance at bringing their best deal and i would say yes or no and that was it.

So...what sort of deal did you get? Inquiring minds wanna know! Actually, would be a good learning experience for those of us that are also looking, albeit not for a new truck. Seems the same principle could be applied to a used truck as well, one shot at your best deal or I walk.

i don't buy or trade many vehicles but this is my approach.I do enough research to satisfy me. Then waste no time to get to the bottom line and tell the salesman what I am willing to pay. Then be prepared to get up and walk. I have been stopped at the door once and the deal went down.If they pfart around and then finally take my offer, i always think, darn I offered too much. :R

always be prepared to walk from a deal. you may not get it. but you may get a real good deal.new, used. does not matter.my current used trailer.. I walked 3 times. third time I made it 1/2 way home.. got the call.I will drive 12 miles to save 600 dollars.

I'm not sure, as I haven't seen them side by side, (wasn't shopping for a truck when the Deep Cherrys were on the lots) but my impression is that the Delmonico is just a little darker...

Wife drove it back from Vegas while i drove the motorhome. I kept asking her if she needed fuel and answer was no. From Vegas to Fernley she got 21.7 mpg according to gal to mi calc, dont know what dic said. Kinda hard to beat that. And the mh dic said 10.1. When we got outa Vegas i set the cruise at 68, pretty darn good for 8.9L and 33k lbs. Now i need to order the stuff to flat tow it.

Hell yeah, even my '14 3500 Limited MegaDually Aisin has a T-Case neutral for all down tow.

The Ford is flat towable if you get a manual shift tcase but then you cant get the interior like this truck has. As soon as you upgrade the Ford it forces you to shift on the fly which has no neutral or if it does they dont make it known.

Great looking truck, and I really like that color. Love those Cummins too.
Just wondering though, why a Ford is not flat towable? I am new at this, but I was thinking any vehicle could be made towable with the proper towing kit for a driveline disconnect. What is different between the dodge and the Ford?

I tell them what I'll pay. I know what they paid for the vehicle and allow for a reasonable profit.

Research what i consider the low price leaders in the brand you want. I dont tell them any numbers, i let them tell me. I knew that i could buy the truck at Dennis Dillon for probably 3-4 k less than their supposed lowest price. I had a trade that was paid for and researched that. Could i have got a better deal than i did, sure but it was fair to me amd thats all that matters. They gave me 5k more for my trade than i was prepared to take.
