Bought a Scamp!

I just bought a little Scamp Travel Trailer. It's 13 feet long and weight about 1,350 pounds.

My plans are, to go out camping in the forest. I am sooooo excited about that!

My Scamp looks like this:

  • Feels good to be back in the camping scene, doesn't it? After selling our TT several years ago, we knew we wanted to have something that allowed us to be back out in nature. We needed a unit with a bathroom, and looked at several PUPs but never found one that fit our needs. One day driving around town, I found a 19 foot Hi-Lo that was extremely well taken care of and just fit the needs for the two of us. Easy set up, just enough storage and room for a three or four day trip and pulls like a dream. Just can not describe how good it felt sitting around a campfire the first time out!!!!! Go for it George.... Happy camping.
  • Great choice. We're on our second Scamp; first a 16 side bath and now a 19D. Just got back to NC from a 6K mile trip out west with all of our camping being boondocking or rustic NF/NPS facilities. Hope you enjoy yours as much as we do ours.

Alot can said about the small footprint campers to go where you want to go...

I have really been looking at these rugged OFF-ROAD campers that I can pull with my 4WD vehicles to get me way back off-grid...

I like this one big time....

  • That is a nice little trailer, and perfect for the adventures you seek!

I have a friend that owns a 13' Winnebago TT. He enjoys getting back in the woods with it. He did flip the axle, to allow more clearance for back road adventure.

    Have fun,

  • Good for you. As our lives change, what works for us changes. I've been thinking along the same lines, but also staying open to the folding camper idea, because I like the feel of being in a tent while past sleeping on the ground, and trying to get up from the ground.

I'm sure you'll enjoy customizing it to fit your purposes.
