I guess those of you that will just stay put have never had to evacuate due to fire?? We used our camper twice for a short time and it was great. I agree if one can stay put thats a great option during chaos, but dont call me a **** whatever for having an escape plan!
Very well put.
yes we have had to evacuate due to fire and it wasn't fun, getting your pets and livestock loaded and moved to a safe area is complicated because you don't know where the "safe" area will be because you don't know where the fire will be before it happens and then it is a rapidly changing threat.
Even after we moved to an area where wildfires are not the same risk we always have a way to move our pets and horses.
In our area we do not have to worry about hurricanes and on our farm we are above the surrounding areas and we have no chance of floods and mudslides chasing us out. Tornados are a threat but you don't run from them you hide from them. Of course there could always be the unknown, like bio attacks which would be unlikely where we are but .... you never know. and where would we run to?
I would not ever call somebody a " **** whatever" for having an escape plan.
I just don't have one for us. It may be very advisable for you to have one.
