Mitch you and deltamaster please look up FMVSS Standard 105, 1976.
This is a FEDERAL LAW. All manufactures that make or import vehicles into the US have to abide by this law.
ALL BRAKES SYSTEMS THAT ARE IN THE US ARE REDUNDANT. ALL OF THEM. Anybody that says otherwise is ignorant of the facts.
You might also notice that the OP's story has now changed to say the brakes did not go to the floor and that he did indeed have brakes.
The misinformation in this thread is unbelievable and to be quite honest, disturbing.
