That is what is meant by pedal hitting the floor = master cylinder running out of travel. "ok pump the pedal"... bleed... "ok pedal, is at the floor"... close bleeder... "ok pump up again"... "pedal is hard"... "ok hold it"... open bleeder again... "pedal is on the floor!"... "ok hold"... close bleeder (satisfied good fluid no air bubbles)... need I go on? :W
Next time you bleed the brakes this way, push on the brake pedal as hard as you can. Tell me if the pedal goes further.
