What would I be happy with? If Toyota pays for the gas money for me to drive all the way home and back, the campground fees and fully covers the loaner car. That would be good. If they were to throw in some complimentary services or something like that, then that would be better.
I think you are dreaming if you think they will give you anything besides the repair, assuming it's still in warranty. I have had more than one roadside failure, including a blown transmission that left me stranded in a small town for two weeks last year trying to get it repaired. I can tell you that the Toyota dealer already went above and beyond by giving you a loaner vehicle...if this was any other brand you would driving a Hertz car right now on your own nickel.
Not to minimize the seriousness of a brake failure, but any vehicle is loaded with $5 parts that can wreak havoc, not to mention the many sensors, etc., that operate the drivetrain. Breakdown on the road always a real possibility when towing so it's best to be prepared. If you don't have a roadside assistance service from Good Sam or similar that will tow the trailer for you, you might consider for next season.
You ought to look at the trailer brakes also...you say they "didn't engage"...the Prodigy controller is inertia-based, and if the vehicle wasn't slowing sufficiently the controller won't apply the TT brakes. Did you use the manual lever? The TT brakes should have been unaffected by the Toyota issue since they are electric, not hydraulic.
