Although the brake pads may last, the rotors do not and rust to the point of no return. Or how about the brake, fuel and transmission lines. The 2003-2009 model year trucks have quite the reputation for blowing out due to rot. And lets not forget the transfer case whose internal gears actually wear a hole in the case housing. Ask me how I know as an owner of 2004 2500HD with just 55,000 miles.
