Although my previous '06 was a 4x2 thus no transfer case I never had any issues with corroded brake or fuel lines. In fact they looked as good as new when I traded at 98,000 miles. Replacement of a single leaking transmission line. Their leakage is well known but not so sure of problems with the others.
If your truck spent all it's time in Texas then I can see why you've had no rust issues.
Am I safe in making the assumption that you were speaking of brake, fuel and transmission lines blowing out being a problem in certain areas of the country and not being a nation wide problems as I thought you meant?
