BRAND CROSS OVERS ?

We are saving up for a new trailer. Thought I wanted a Coachman 17 BH. Today I see a Forest River Viking 17 BH. With the exception of no oven the viking looks identical. I ave also seen a Koala which is very similar. My question is, for this trailer, which brandsare made on the same asembly lines? It's a dilema. If several brands are made on the same line that broadens my search. Or does it? Any thoughts? Thanks

  • Sorry to see the oven go away. That might be a deal breaker for us as we use ours oftenSo Coachman is a Forest Rifver product. That is worth pondering

oh and btw, i dont think either viking or coachmen 17bh has an oven, just 2 burner stove and microwave
  • I have a 2016 Coachman Clipper 17BH, and from what I can tell viewing the Viking 17BH online, they are basically identical.

I compared the features of the 2 models, and they are identical as well. Both models are listed at the bottom on coachmen's website here

i think it's just a branding thing, which seems very prevalent in RV world. I could probably change a few stickers and WA-LA! i now have a viking.
  • If you check out Forest River's website, there's info on all the brands they manufacturer, many of which are made on the same assemble line.

Until just now, when I looked at Coachmen's website, I didn't realize they were a division of Forest River.

Forest River has two large plants in Oregon. I don't know if they have plants in Indiana (or elsewhere).

Forest River is the "company" name, and they make a bunch of different brands.

Same as Keystone, they are the "company" which makes Passport, Bullet, Springdale, Hideout, and others. They have a plant in Oregon, which builds all of the brands I mentioned above.
