- TxsurferExplorerSo in all reality GM wins the first two catagories and get 2nd in the third. I would bet that if there was no GMC those buyers would still buy a GM product.

Yet, Ford falsely continues their claims that they sell more pickups and it's wildly misleading because all their pickups and even larger trucks are all called "F" series trucks. Just a fictitious marketing ploy but far from reality and honesty!
NO, they do not include anything greater than a class 3 truck in these sales numbers.
The Ford Authority website quashes that fallacy (alternative fact).
Fordauthority.com shows 57,995 units sold. Also scroll down the page and it states these sales numbers are for F150,250,350 & 450 only.
Fordauthority.com Jan truck sales
Pickuptrucks.com shows the same 57,995 units.
Pickuptrucks.com Jan sales
But it is repeated often enough that even those in the industry that should know better belive it. - spud1957Explorer

Pickuptrucks.com Jan sales - travelnutzExplorer IIYes, GM had sold approx. 950,000 total true pickup trucks in 2016 and that far surpassed Ford sales and really dwarfed FCA Ram total sales. No different than the big yearly sales spread variation every year for the Big 3 or more truthfully, the Big 2 and the tail dragger wanna be.

So this data is considered "relatively accurate" according to the author. I guess one persons "relative" is different than another persons! - Bionic_ManExplorer

I have a problem with their data. The sum of Silverado's is 401,548. GM reported 574,876. So they are only accounting for 69.8 percent of the deliveries in their so called "80 percent" world.
Honest question. Are the GM numbers including Canyon and Colorado? I would guess that would account for over 100,000 units.
Here is the articles disclaimer.
The numbers in the charts below represent various dealer sales that work with Cars.com and provide us with sales data (which covers about 75 ot 80 percent of all US dealerships) but does not include certain types of fleet purchases which are bought directly from manufacturers. As as result, the half-ton graph below represents a relatively accurate accounting of total sales (but may not exactly line up with other sources of the same data), while the remaining two charts (three-quarter-ton and one-tons) are more in line with those same 2016 results. - spud1957Explorer

Sad they include SRW and DRW in the one ton category.
Personally I would like to see the 350/3500 Diesel DRW numbers.
Here are the Class 5 numbers. Note the US stats.

I'm nursing a strained back and had some time today to wander over to the Dieselstop which I frequented often when I owned my Ford diesels. Let's just say after a few minutes reading the 6.7L forum (with my jaw on the floor I'm sure) I was very happy with my decision to buy a Cummins. I read of several complete engine failures at low mileages. As much as the 6.0L had a lot of nasty problems complete engine failure was rare. Not so much with the 6.7L. Say what you might about the Ram but the latest generation is much better than previous generations and the Ram forums are COMPLETELY different than the Ford diesel forums. Yes there are a few people with some issues (most relatively minor) but nothing like I read today. I'm very happy I got off the Blue Koolaid.
Based on CR surveys some Ram owners may dissagree.

Made a quick run to the deer camp this morning and saw several new F350 DRW trucks. Man are they a jewel.
Dually in deer camp? You must be a flat lander hunter.
Yep... Pretty much flat land full of Live Oaks, Post Oaks, and Pin Oaks.
No wonder that F-350 has been trouble free. You need to come out West to the mountain passes where they have to work hard no matter which direction is chosen! ;) :B
Nice! I was thinking the same.
I'll pass... While you guys freeze your balz off I'm enjoying 85F temps fpr the last few days. BTW...those Dodge dashboards don't stand a chance in this Texas heat. Crack... Crack... Crack... Next thing you know it the whole top of the dash is gone. :W
85F is sounding really good right now admittedly! Is the beer cold? :B
