Bridgestone Duravis R500 HD Highway All Season

Who has experience with Bridgestone Duravis R500 HD Highway All Season ?
This load range E tire is promoted as a VERY HEAVY DUTY tire suitable for commercial applications .
I am considering the LT 265/75R16 LRE for a gmc hd 2500 pickup .
The question is are these tires the roughest riding around in order to achieve this durability ?
How well do these Duravis R500 Highway tires handle and stop ?
Is there somebody out there who is running them on their pickup ?
  • Funny you asked, I happen to run those tires on my truck. The dealer installed them prior purchase, and so far they are pretty good. I was told by the tire guy that they are the best HD tire used out there?...? I know they are expensive to purchase, and have like an 80,000 mile service life from what I was told... Anyway just his thought, mine will be after many years of service. Yes they are sold to be or supposed to be a commercial tire. Not really ruff riding, and have had no problems stopping on wet pavement with a load being pulled. Also to add they are not bad in dirt either, sugar sand makes the back end hop just a little. Overall in only 4k miles I have no complaints. Their pretty stout from what I have heard via internet research. Hope this helps.

  • Good reviews at Tire rack - $630 for 4 after rebate. Shipping - $120 to 130.

  • I have been researching the same tire. They have great reviews at Discount tire and other sites.
  • I have them on our suburban. I have them aired to 60 front and 88 rear. Any lower on the rear and k2500 sub bounces when towing. Other than that no troubles after a years use. It is our dedicated tv and gets used 4 times a month for local traffic abuse.
  • I have them on my 2500HD. I think they are probably a good tire, but seem to produce more tire noise than some others that I have run.
  • our 2500 H D came with the dura vis M 700

they come highly recommend in our area by the oil and gas companies that travel high milage on gravel and dirt roads.

my truck is primarily at tow vehicle with 25000 or so on the clock.

have a back problem and need the best ride i can get.

thees tires have held up well and no complaints. would buy again for my use. high way towing.

hope this might transfer over to the 500's.
  • I have bought these tires and weared them out. They're the only tire I'll buy for my diesel. I don't believe they can be beat on wear mileage for the price. I'll warn you that 265s size is wide for this tire. Tend to spin in snow on a light vehicle. I switched to 235/85/16 tires much better for driving in winter/ rain.

The Duravis R500 is a much better tire for handling once worn than the stock Duravis M700. THEYRE NOT THE SAME TIRE.
  • Oops my bad, I have the 700 series, maybe the 500 is similar in construction. Regardless they are great tires!
  • The M700 is a siped tire which do pretty well if your in snow. I use them during winter only. I have some R250 on the RV which are also holding up well but I wouldn't want to run them in the snow. Been happy with both and I'm sure I'll time them out long before they wear out.
