My post is primarily directed to; "Yes, there are many forum posters who have virtually none or little real Mechanical Engineering knowledge and yet post so much garbage on subjects so far over their heads that it's almost laughable but it's not. It's not themselves they are leading astray but the unsuspecting reader and can often lead to a very dangerous outcome or failure."
I take any broken frame seriously, but do not think it beneficial to lead the unsuspecting reader astray with little real Mechanical Engineering knowledge. Nothing wrong with expressing an opinion, but not to be implied it is fact. Fact is, the frame is repairable, and the OP should be made aware of that. More than one post falls way short of that, to put it mildly.
As I am sure you are aware, hydroforming is a forming process, not a material. Simply because something is hydroformed, does not mean it can or cannot be welded, as some posts said or implied.
