I picked up extended warranty beacuse it covered seals, slide, few other things I just don't want to mess with. However, seems like, now's the time to learn - especially knowing now that when issues occur when I'm not at dealer - warranty can be useless.
Extended warranties are generally regarded by most as nothing more than a profit maker for those selling it, offering little in return to those paying for it. :( Many would argue that if you're that concerned about it you'd be far better off to set aside the same amount you paid for that extended warranty and keep it handy for that rainy day when you may be faced with some sort of significant repair bill. Unscientific, but I'd hazard a guess that major calamities don't really happen to most of us often at all and those realizing any true advantage from having invested in an extended warranty are very few indeed. I'll repeat - the reality of RV ownership is that you'll be best served by doing most repairs yourself, reserving only those that may be major in nature or already covered by any existing warranty for the dealer to address.
