Having gone through a very serious fuel contamination issue myself (DEF in the fuel), I know the process he must go through. When the dealer is doing the repairs, they need to put in writing that their repairs will assure that the warranty will be fully honored for the rest of the warranty period, including any extended warranty. In the case of my Ford, this meant replacing the entire fuel system, including pump, injectors, filters, fuel lines, etc. Cost was $11,000. When the repairs were done, Ford documented that my warranty was fully in force (for another 80K miles).
