From memory only; but as I recall Fords bulletin had 2 very specific procedures for contaminated fuel. Not sure if they specified different contaminants?
IF NOT RUN--- it was a complete cleaning of fuel system ahead of the HP pump.
IF WAS RUN--- it was replacement of HP pump, injectors, and much more..
No questions asked.. Replace all this if you want factory warranty.
I am almost sure GM will have a similar REQUIRED procedure so the repairs SHOULD be done correct.
