Bug Splatter Clean Up

Are there any tricks for cleaning the bug splatter off the front of the TT & TV? Someone told me to spray them with a no stick cooking spray like Pam before heading out. Has anyone done this? Any other suggestion or ideas? I live in South FL and this is a constant nuisance.

  • The dryer sheets work best if they are "used". A fresh new dryer sheet will leave a film that is difficult to remove. After they have been through a few cycles in the dryer set them aside for bug removal use and the bugs come like magic with very little rubbing and no residual film.

Works for me... now if i could just reach the front of our Class C bug catcher.

  • I use diluted Totally Awesome from Dollar Store. Really works good even on black streaks.
  • When I hit Florida I was told all the horror stories of what the lovebugs would do to your vehicles.

All I can say is do NOT use the dryer sheets 'dry'.
I did and it permanently scratched the paint on the toad and etched the bug deflector on my truck. :R

Regular plastic scrubby you use in the kitchen and hot soapy water takes bugs off. Stay on top of them and Wash them off using the window cleaning bucket at the gas station every time you fuel up. It's not rocket science.
  • Mix half bleach, half water, squirt of liquid soap, and spray on with a pumpup sprayer. Wait 20 min or so, don't let it dry; wash off with a hose.
  • I would think Pam would leave a brown sticky residue after a while. When you wash the rig, use wet dryer sheets on the splats. It works!
