Love my MADE IN USA Tundra =). No US tax dollars propping up Toyota Motor Corp either.
Nope but their own Country sure as hell pumped money into them to keep them afloat. BTW care to post how much money the taxpayers gave in local, state and federal monies to build that plant and keep giving Toyota!.
Stop beating the "they didn't take a hand out" drum, they did and so did EVERY OTHER CAR MANUFACTURE ON THE PLANET! Get over it, the bankers are the ones that screwed this Country not the UAW workers!
But, they didn't take a handout from MY taxes. As far as I know, Toyota bought the land, built the buildings, tooled the tools, paid the employees and pays federal/state/local taxes on the land and buildings, pays payroll and social security taxes on the wages it pays its AMERICAN employees and collects sales tax on every vehicle it sells and its employees pay income axes on their wages earned and the employees use their compensation to buy things sold in the USA.
Yes, some money goes back to Toyota in Japan... but do you have any idea how many tax breaks GM/Ford/Dodge get to get manufacturing jobs in the USA?
Look at Kogod's index of AMERICAN MADE. They factor ALL of that into the equation, where the money "goes", who gets tax breaks, etc and rank the TRUE "Made in America" index of vehicles. Go look up where my Tundra sits on that list.
Don, you keep yelling at ME about your UAW. I never said anything about your union. Don't be upset because Toyota employees are union and still make just about the same pay and benefits as an equal tenured UAW worker... minus union dues.
