The ones I have seen have on them in about 50 places "for off road or competition use only." Bla, bla, bla, bla…….
Sort of like fining and putting a gasoline station out of business for selling gas to an arsonist. :h :h
Could it be they want the money and the little guy they sell the tuner to doesn't have any of that? Hmmmmmmmm????
It is easier to go after a few rather than thousands.
The thing that would make a consumer nervous would be if the EPA confiscates the customer list. I remember way back when satellite tv started out. Remember the huge dishes and big converter boxes. There were some selling unlocked converters so you could get every station without a subscription. Some of those guys got busted and then they went after the people that also purchased the boxes. I don't know if this was just a local bust type thing or if it was widespread.
