Yeah I think they all are going to be propane. Artic fox has 3.6 kw gen onan gen option. I think if you custom build from the sheet they may add a fuel tank for ya...
But if you have 30 lb LP bottles on the front the onans use .5 gph @ 50% load.
If you did run something 50% load ( I doubt) all day you can run 28 hours.
Id rather have a clean burning propane gen before gasoline...
What are you trying to run?
I use a 1100 watt inverter and plug the camper to it. It poweres all I need. Coffee maker, tv's toaster oven... Refridge if needed... etc..
Just no microwave, a/c, and HWH... We dont use micro anyway, a/c not needed, and HWH runs on gas, as well s refridge...Plus I have an oven...
The fridge, HWH, Heater, stove and oven all use propane... Yes some of those can be run with the generator, which will then consume MORE propane as it is powering more loads... You cannot use the same propane twice. In addition, generators get worse fuel economy on propane and put out less power while on propane, due to the lower BTUs in propane. There is no free lunch. Also propane is not as easy to get on the road as gasoline. This can be a problem in remote boondocking situations.
The ONLY advantage for propane is the lack of carburator gumming.
So that would work well for someone that is a light generator user. As usage goes up. propane makes less and less sense.
