The Onan 3.6 LP uses .6 gallons of LP per hr at half load.
The Onan 4.0 Gas uses .5 gallons of gas per hr at half load.
The gas generator is also $500 cheaper.
On 2 x 30# LP tanks, you could run 28 hours, but then it's a challenge to find a place to fill them. And that is assuming you run nothing else off gas. Realistically it's more like 20-24 hours.
On a 30 gallon gas tank like the Wolf Pack has, you could run 60 hours and fill up at any gas station or with a couple 5 gallon gas cans you can top off occasionally.
So the gas is more efficient and cheaper, and produces more power.
We have 2 large dogs and we live in the southeast where it is regularly above 90F in the summer. We need the a/c to keep the dogs cool, and us!
We would like to be able to boondock for a weekend at times in the summer, so we need full power for up to 48-72 hours.
