bunch of angry birds !!

I most definitely get a "Get off my lawn!" vibe from many users here but I think the average age here is a lot higher than other forums I frequent. You need to be able to weed out certain certain things and/or people on any internet message board and don't let things bother you.

Totally understand your thinking. Guess is goes with social media, but personally would not post anything I would not say face to face....just my way of doing things.

A couple of subjects that I wish would be outlawed or declared Unconstitutional or just something....tires, weight and just general rudeness to a legitimate question. I believe there is a way to point out that the OP is headed in the wrong direction or totally off base without getting down into the mud, but seems that is the world today.....I liked the old world better.

Hope you'll stick around. There truly is some good info on here, some great ideas, some fun stories and unfortunately some folks who just either have too much testosterone or PMS....take your pick - don't want to leave anyone out. We've gotten the answer to a good many questions/problems right here from knowledgeable campers....the rest you can discard pretty quickly. Happy camping!

I ask my kids, would you rather be right or happy? I don't get too excited if somebody does't agree with me anymore. Anything I contribute is either opinion or based on my research, feel free to do your own.

I believe the etiquette should be to either address the initial post or elaborate on a response. I see where people have replied to the most recent post on a topic that spreads several pages. They have not taken the time to read through the entire post prior to doing so. Ever walk into a conversation like that?

I also have to realize, written communication does have a perceived tone. Sometimes, it does not come across as intended. Some people take great exception to this and pile on quickly.

In the end, the original post is worthless. It devolves into an argument, and with greater frequency, the original poster does not come back to reply on what they ultimately did.

Yes the tire thing is probably at the top of every RV forum for down right rudeness when it comes to differing opinions.

I noticed too a shift in the tone of these forums. I'm seeing where people have to dissect the question, and put it under a microscope. Sometimes it's for clarification so that they can provide accurate input. But a lot of times it's just to beat the OP over the head.

There's a post on here today about a picnic table on a carry rack. Simple question is seems. But the OP gets four or five responses on why he doesn't (or shouldn't) really need a picnic table. What's up with that? Do the "Picnic Table Police" have to first sign off on the question?

Not everyone that disagrees with you is trying to put your ideas down. They are just expressing an opinion based on their life’s experiences.

You are free to weight their views as legitimate or just plan BS.

If you agree fine, if you disagree also fine; it is not a race to see who is correct. It is a forum seeking out diverse solutions to various problems.

Some suggestions will be good, some will be better and some will be far out there. It is the nature of the beast we call the internet forum.

Agree…..I’m thinking when I see the negative comments here is someone that could utilize their time better then sitting in front of computer on a forum waiting to bounce on someone.

They obviously are intelligent and have computer skills…..got to be a better way to spend time.

I do lot’s of volunteering, including a member of a disaster action team for the Red Cross….always in need of people with computer skills….case workers, logistics, scheduling, communications, etc.

Ya we dump our grey water on the ground around here its legal and most people do! I dont care if you dont do it or its illegal where you are! And I tow my 5th wheel with a 3/4 ton pickup! Ha BTW that is all true!

I think some people also take things the wrong way, sometimes it is really difficult to tell what a persons intentions are. I have also noticed some are really thin skinned. It also seems people feel passionate about some subjects (ST tires vs. LT tires) on the forum just like they feel passionate about something's in politics.
