Bunk House Safety

We have had a bunk house for a while but the bunks were only open about 1/3 of the length. A wall covered the rest so the kids couldn't roll out. Got a new camper with open bunks and my son rolled out the first night. Luckily he was on the lowest one so the fall wasn't to far. I'm looking for options to help with this because I don't want them to fall and get hurt. Thought about some type of bed rails but I think all the ones that I have seen wouldn't work because of the hinged area at the base. I don't think it would fit between the side of the bunk and the mattress. Anybody got a good idea. It would be great if it was a good/cheap idea since we just purchased a new trailer.
Thanks
  • Thanks for the ideas. I like both of these. I will be experimenting before next camping trip.
  • My sons have both fallen out of the upper bunks and hurt themselves pretty good. Part of the problem was the slippery nylon sleeping bags. They now use regular sheets with a blanket on top. We put a pool noodle under the fitted sheet as well so they can't roll out. No problems since.
  • 4 hooks - 2 on each end and a cargo net. To open, unhook cargo net and simply tuck under the mattress. Tell your son he's on a Pirate Ship and the net is the ships rigging. He'll love it.
