I finally purchased a TopLine 60" aluminum bunk ladder from Amazon ($72.00 delivered plus tax). Reason why I bought it was their 'docking system'. The ladder comes with 2 cast nylon upper mounts that screw into the front of the bunk that locate and align the ladder via 2 'C' shaped ends on the ladder itself that index on the upper mounts.
Pretty slick and easy to remove too, It's all aluminum (real light, maybe 2 pounds) and it has padded steps to boot.
I'm happy and the wife is happy too and that is important.
Thanks for all the replies.
I still would like to see RV builders include access l;adders with their units.
